Hi, What’s your name?
Inge Van Ginderachter
What do you do for living?
I’m a freelance graphic designer. I work on both digital and analo
What is your background? Were you doing something different before?
I studied graphic design and cultural management. After that, I have worked for different design studios in Munich.
How did you end up doing what you do?
After completing my studies in Brussels and Antwerp I ended up in Munich. After seven years with different agencies, I felt the urge to do some projects on my own. After freelancing for just one year so far, I am really overwhelmed and grateful that I have already had the opportunity to work on really diverse and interesting projects.
Where are you usually working?
Currently, I’m working most often at home or at my clients’ office, depending on the scope of the project.
What is the biggest struggle in your daily job?
It can be challenging to find the right balance between having enough clients but not too many. As a freelancer working at home, it can also be difficult to separate working hours from private time, and not keep working in the evenings. That’s something I want to keep an eye on and avoid as much as possible.
What is the most rewarding thing about your job?
Happy clients who are very proud of their new branding, new magazine or new website.
Anything you want to share with us or with someone who is thinking of doing what you do?
I can really recommend starting as a freelance graphic designer when you already have a strong network. If not, you should definitely work on building up contacts with interesting people, for instance by going to events where you can meet peers and potential customers.
Why do you like Twostay?
It’s an amazing concept for freelancers, particularly so for starters who cannot afford their own office or co-working spot right away.
Can you link your social media channels if you have them?
